Bury’s healthcare bosses open door to locals at Governing Body meeting

NHS Bury Clinical Commissioning Group’s (CCG) next Governing Body meeting is taking place on the 27th January, and members of the public are invited to attend.

The monthly Governing Body (or Board) meetings are where discussions, and decisions, take place about official CCG business and the planning and funding of local health services. The next meeting is to go ahead on Wednesday 27th January, from 3pm until 5pm, at Townside Primary Care Centre, Knowsley Place, in Bury.

This month’s meeting will see members of the Governing Body welcome a range of regular reports and key topics to the table as discussions on finance, performance and quality are all set to take place. The full agenda and papers for the meeting, will be available on the ‘Your local NHS, Boardroom’ section of the CCG website, in advance of the meeting date.

Public questions, relating to agenda items, are welcome to be submitted in advance. Question forms are available for download, and can also be found under ‘Your local NHS, Boardroom’ section the CCG’s website. Paper copies of the question form can be obtained through contacting the CCG by telephone, on 0161 762 3072, or by email, at buccg.corporateoffice@nhs.net.

Dr. Kiran Patel, Chair and Clinical Lead for NHS Bury CCG said:

“These meetings (Governing Body) provide a great opportunity for healthcare professionals and members of the public alike to gain a greater understanding of the role the CCG plays in ensuring local services are responsive, efficient and offer good value for money.

“It’s a chance to come along to and find out more about the CCG and get closer to the decision making process. After all, the decisions made at such meetings directly affect local people, as we plan and purchase healthcare services on their behalf. Similarly, for commissioners, it’s an opportunity to hear first-hand about patient experience, be that through a Patient Story or through questions posed in advance of the meeting.”

Those unable to attend the meeting in person can follow proceedings online, live on Twitter, at @NHSBuryCCG.
