Bury’s healthcare decision makers invite locals to next Governing Body meeting

NHS Bury Clinical Commissioning Group’s (CCG) next Governing Body meeting is taking place on the 24th February, and members of the public are invited to attend.

The monthly Governing Body (or Board) meetings are where discussions, and decisions, take place about official CCG business, and the planning and funding of local health services. The next meeting is set to go ahead on Wednesday 24th February, from 3pm until 5pm, at Townside Primary Care Centre at Knowsley Place, in Bury.

Public questions, relating to agenda items being discussed at the meeting, are welcome to be submitted in advance. Question forms are available for download, and can be found on the CCG’s website (www.buryccg.nhs.uk), under ‘Your local NHS, Boardroom’ then ‘rules of the Governing Body’. Paper copies of the question form can be obtained through contacting the CCG by telephone, on 0161 762 3072, or by email, at mailto:buccg.communications@nhs.net .

Dr. Kiran Patel, Chair and Clinical Lead for NHS Bury CCG said:

“These meetings (Governing Body) provide a great opportunity for healthcare professionals and members of the public alike to gain a greater understanding of the roles each other play in maintaining high quality, local healthcare services.

“It’s a chance to come along and find out more about the CCG and get closer to the decision making process. After all, the decisions made at such meetings directly affect local people, as we plan and purchase healthcare services on their behalf. Similarly, for commissioners, it’s an opportunity to hear first-hand the invaluable opinions of the population that we’re here to serve.”

Those unable to attend the meeting in person can follow proceedings online, live on Twitter at @NHSBuryCCG.

The agenda and papers for the meeting will be available on the ‘Your local NHS, Boardroom’ section of the CCG website in advance of the meeting.
