Health decision makers to meet next week

NHS Bury Clinical Commissioning Group’s (CCG) next Governing Body meeting is taking place next week, and members of the public are invited to come along and observe.

The Governing Body meetings are where discussions and decisions happen in relation to the planning and funding of local health services.

The next meeting is scheduled to take place on Wednesday 23rd November from 3pm at Townside Primary Care Centre, Knowsley Place in Bury (5th floor).  Regular items on the agenda will include finance, performance and quality.

The Governing Body will also review this quarter’s safeguarding dashboard and assess the outputs against the 2015/16 annual reports for adult safeguarding and looked after children.

Public questions relating to the agenda items being discussed are welcome.  These should be submitted at least 24 hours in advance of the meeting. This will allow sufficient time for the question to be picked up and processed in advance of the meeting.

Question forms are available on the CCG’s website ( under ‘Your local NHS, Boardroom’ then ‘rules of the Governing Body’, and paper copies can be obtained by contacting the CCG by telephone on 0161 762 3072 or by email at

Dr. Kiran Patel, Chair and Clinical Lead for NHS Bury CCG said: “Our Governing Body meetings provide a great opportunity for local people to come along and find out more about what we do and to get closer to the decision making process about the services we plan and purchase on their behalf.  We regularly welcome members of the public to our meetings and I would encourage anyone who would like to find out more about what we do and how we make decisions to come along.”

Anyone unable to attend in person can follow the meeting online live on Twitter at @NHSBuryCCG

The agenda and papers for the meeting will be available on the ‘Your local NHS, Boardroom’ section of the CCG website in advance of the meeting.
